We kindly ask the following from business placement companies:
- To make a working place available to the student, including a desk, a computer and a telephone. Business placements cannot be done from the student's home address. Although the student should not be seen as a worker, we expect him/her to commit him/herself to work on the assignments at the regular full time working hours of the personnel of the company in general;
- To appoint a company counsellor who evaluates the student's performance by filling in the evaluation form in week 6 and 18/19 of the business placement (the student is in possession of such form);
- The company counsellor should make arrangements for regular meetings with the student, once or twice a week to discuss the progress of the assignments, and to discuss problems and questions that might come up. Of course, a student must be able to do the work for the assignments his/herself, but he/she still needs some looking after, every now and then. If "time is short", we suggest that the company counsellor and the student have their meetings uring lunchtime or after working hours, so that the guidance of the student does not cost many precious working hours and does not interfere too much with the schedule of the company counsellor.
- To determine the days off for the student. A working week consists of 38 or 40 hours and the student receives approximately 1 or 2 free days within a month. (The student will usually work during the normal working hours and days of the placement-offering company)
- To determine what kind of compensation the student receives for his or her efforts. This can be translates as follows:
- An allowance per month
- Provide a contribution to the refund of travelling or rental expenses
- To appoint all the agreements between a company and the student in a contract
- Assist the student with finding accommodation
