In our philosophy a business placement must be mutually beneficial for the company, the student and the university.

A business placement be in the interest of your company because:
  • the student can execute projects or do research in the field of sales and marketing for your company;
  • the student can be employed in day-to-day marketing activities;
  • an analysis of the company form a different point of view; the student may contribute new ideas and know-how to your company.

A business placement abroad provides students with the opportunity to achieve the learning objectives of the placement:
  • achieving personal objectives like improving their personal social and communications skills;
  • development of character and personality: learning to act independently, bearing responsibility, working on specific personal objectives;
  • apply their theoretical knowledge in practice;
  • explore their future professional workplace in an international environment;
  • learn to work in and with other cultures.

Business placements allow the school to reach its educational goals, so the students learn to:
  • work in a company;
  • recognize different roles, positions, structures of decision making in companies;
  • manage their own tasks, to take responsibilities for their own behaviour and for the way they are functioning in the company;
  • identify their strengths and weaknesses, improve their weaknesses and use their strengths.

We consider the placement as a cooperation between the company, the student and the school. So what can the three parties expect from one another?

The company can expect from the student:
  • a temporary employee who for a period of nineteen weeks will be working for the company with 100% dedication and with all his or her abilities;
  • a fresh, positive critical look from outside on the company;
  • deployment for activities for which the company does not have time.

The company can expect from the school:

  • supervision by a lecturer;
  • support the student to make the placement successful.

The student can expect from the company:

  • supervision from a qualified employee;
  • the opportunity to achieve the placement objectives;
  • a clearly described task and accompaniment activities;
  • a personal workstation and access to the necessary facilities like computer, telephone etc.
